Fleur de Lys

The
day to day itinerary described below is a sample of a typical cruise on the
Fleur de Lys. However, on any one cruise, the moorings may change, there may be
fewer or more excursions, the places visited may vary depending on the season
and the passenger preferences. Because there are a limited number of passengers
on any of our vessels the guide can tailor the itinerary in accordance with the
passengers’ wishes.
St
Jean de Losne to Pont d'Ouche
Burgundy
Sunday –
Paris
to
Dijon
.
Depart Paris, Gare de Lyon, on the TGV
train in the afternoon. On arrival at
Dijon
station you are transferred to St Jean de
Losne, where you board the barge for your cruise through
Burgundy
. A champagne reception gives you a chance
to meet the crew. Enjoy your first dinner on board.
Monday - Cruise to Longecourt. Visit Clos
de Vougeot.
Spend the morning cruising the flat
plain from the River Saône toward
Dijon
. After lunch, tour the Côte d’Or
planted with vines that produce some of the world’s most famous wines. Visit
“Clos de Vougeot”, a medieval château surrounded by vineyards. This is the
headquarters of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, whose special label is awarded
annually to the finest Côte d’Or vintages. On the way back to the boat visit
the Château de Longecourt.
Tuesday - Cruise to
Dijon
. Visit
Dijon
.
Today, your guide takes you on a
walking tour of
Dijon
to visit the market, the Grey Poupon
mustard shop and the
Ducal
Palace
. Later this afternoon return to
Dijon
to explore the many
interesting shops. Tonight, the
barge moors in the
port
of
Dijon
.
Wednesday - Cruise to Fleurey. Visit
Beaune.
Enjoy a relaxing morning on board
before driving to Lavernois for lunch at the Relais & Chateaux hotel.
In the afternoon discover Beaune, the capital of the wine region of
Burgundy
. Enjoy a visit to the famous Hôtel-Dieu,
Hospice de Beaune followed by a private wine tasting at Joseph Drouhin.
Thursday - Cruise to Gissey. Visit Château
de Commarin.
The morning is spent cruising through
the lovely
Ouche
Valley
. After lunch, visit
the Château de Commarin, an interesting castle that has been continuously
occupied since it was built in the 14th century.
Friday - Cruise to Pont d’Ouche.
Visit Châteauneuf-en-Auxois.
Cruise
through several more locks until reaching your final destination of Pont
D’Ouche. Today, you take a very scenic drive to Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, a
medieval hill-top village. On the
way back to the barge, stop off at the newly restored Abbaye de la Bussière for
a walk through the beautiful grounds. Meanwhile the chef is preparing a feast
for your farewell dinner.
Saturday –
Dijon
to
Paris
.
After breakfast disembark and transfer
to the
Dijon
rail station. Board the TGV to Paris,
Gare de Lyon, where you are met by our
representative who will assist you with your luggage.
