The Joie De Vivre cruising route touches a big variety of golf courses, containing some of the very best in France. These are definitely the Fontainebleau golf course in the forest next to the palace and the golf course in Orléans, a challenge for every professional or non professional golfer.
Our Golf package contains a half day 9 hole run in Fontainebleau,
a whole day excursion to Orléans for a 18 hole run and another half day run for 9 holes in Sancerre, an idyllic situated course between the Loire river and the wine hills of Sancerre.
Half day tours contain a hearty second breakfast, prepared by our chef. Orléans includes lunch in the club restaurant.
Golf players, of course, have to miss the usual excursions on those days, but we will be happy to help those of your party who do not play golf by doing those excursion as well.

BURGUNDY CANAL CRUISE
Sunday
Our
meeting time in Paris is 2 p.m.
Full
charter parties will be picked up in any Parisian hotel of their choice.
Transfer
in our luxury air conditioned bus to Tanlay, a typical Burgundy village close to
Tonnerre. Champagne welcome on board the Joie de Vivre. After an introduction to
crew and barge dinner on board.
Monday
After
breakfast a short walk to the 16th century Renaissance chateau of
Tanlay. Guided tour through their pretty
chateau, surrounded by a ditch and still inhabited by the family of the owner
since a couple of hundred years.
Return
to the barge for lunch , while the barge starts cruising
south through pretty countryside, passing flower- bedecked locks. Mooring
for dinner next to a small town.
Tuesday
Morning
excursion to the famous and beautiful wine area of Chablis.
Visit of a vineyard with a guided tour through their cellars, tasting a
variety of fine Chablis white wines.
Time to stroll through the town of Chablis with it`s 50 vineyards.
After
returning to the barge for lunch the cruise continuous along the canal, passing
by the Chateau of Ancy le Franc right next to the Burgundy Canal. Mooring for
the night in Ravières, a stonemaker
town since hundreds of years. Dinner on board.
Wednesday
After
breakfast a short bus ride takes us to the medieval town of Noyers, where a
guide is waiting for us for an introduction to history and architecture of this
village named as one of the nicest in France. After strolling through town you
are invited to the best restaurant in the area, still a secret place although
strongly recommended by the Michelin Guide.
Return
to the barge for a short cruise to Cry, a forgotten Burgundy Village looking
probably the same as a hundred years ago. Barbecue on board.
Thursday
Morning
cruise to Buffon, where, right next to the canal we will visit a pre-industrial
forge from 1753. The Grand-grand-grand daughter of the owner will take us for a
tour through the private area of the state, usually not opened for the public
but both architectural and social wise very interesting. Visit of the forge,
giving you a deep impression of their
way of living and working in the 18th century.
After
the visit the cruise continuous to the town of Montbard, where we moor for
captain`s dinner.
Friday
After
breakfast a short bus- ride to the great place of the Abbey of Fontenay, founded
as an Cistercian Abbey in the 12th century. Totally restored after
having been down in the 19th century, this impressive place comes to
us as a whiteness of the monks life during centuries.

Cruising
towards Venarey les Laumes in the afternoon, where we moor for the night.
Dinner on board.
Saturday
After
a hearty breakfast leaving the Joie de Vivre at 9.30, going back to Paris by our
bus.
NOTE: On alternate weeks, cruise will be in reverse direction. This is a
sample itinerary and is subject to change.
