 Cruise in the Upper Loire

La Bonne Vivant is as spacious as she is elegant, accommodating eight guests in luxuriously appointed style and comfort.

A sunning area and an immaculate sunken hot tub (in the form of a wine barrel) are on the main deck for your outdoor relaxation and pleasure.

Sunday         Travel by private motor coach from Paris to Montargis where you will board your ship for a welcome reception, followed by a short cruise and dinner on board.

Monday        Cruise from Amilly to Montbouy, an old Gallo Roman site. Possible Excursions:

v     Chateau de Fontainebleau, famous palace where the French kings used to hunt

v     The villages of Barbizon and Moret sur Loing, where Impressionists once lived and realized their paintings

v     Visit to Montargis and Girodet Museum (Shopping Available)

Tuesday       Cruise to Chatillon Coligny and its XII century Chateau, built by the Count of Sancerre, overlooking the town.

v     Arboretum des Barres, featuring 10,000 specimens of trees

v     Chateau La Bussieres, a beautiful Chateau dedicated to the fishermen, its 18th century vegetable garden

Wednesday  Cruise to Rogny and moor at the foot of a 7 locks staircase, closed in 1882 and replaced by six automatic locks-an impressive engineering monument of the past.

v     Working Renaissance farm and magnificent Chateau St. Fargeau

v     The town of Gien , featuring hunting and ceramics museum. (Shopping Available)

Thursday:      Cruise to Ouzouer sur Trezee and its Gothic church and picturesque wooden houses.

v     Chateau Pont Chevron

v     Visit Briare and its chateau, Town Hall, Church (with its modern mosaique) and the museum of Enamel Porcelain buttons which made the town famous.

Friday           Cruise over the pont-canal de Briare, splendid aqueduct built by Eiffel over the Loire River in Briare to the peaceful and cozy village of Chatillon sur Loire .

v     Wine tasting in a cellar within the charming village of Sancerre; then try the most famous Goat cheese of France, le Crotin de Chavignol, at the goat farm where it is made

v     Visit the Open Market of Briare

Saturday       Breakfast on board. Morning return to Paris by private van.
