2 St Florentin to Tonnerre
After an early cruise on the Burgundy canal we visit Auxerre, historical capital of Lower Burgundy and one of the loveliest towns in France. Renaissance houses surround the Galliarde clock tower, a city landmark since 1483. We rejoin the Marjorie II for lunch and continue cruising on the Burgundy canal to Tonnerre.
Tuesday, DAY

This morning is our wine tasting in the Chablis region. We visit a number of villages before visiting the 11th century cellars of Bersan & Fils in the village of Saint-Brix-le-Vineux where we can taste a selection of wines from this region of Burgundy. We return to the barge for an afternoon cruise to Tanlay. Sightseeing from the sundeck on route or following the barge on foot or along the towpaths on a bicycle.

DAY 5
Ancy-le-Franc
to Ravieresh
Today we do a long excursion to visit the village of Vezelay with her Roman Basilica of St. Mary Magdalene, one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in Europe, situated in the heart of the Morvan national park. This village has barely changed since Richard the Lion Heart set off for the third crusade in the 12th Century. Today our chef will prepare a special lunch hamper, then we return via the picturesque village of Noyers to our overnight mooring at Ravieresh.
Friday, DAY

to Montbard
We leave after breakfast to the Abbey of Fontenay, founded in 1118 by Saint-Bernard as a self-sufficient setting for the rule of "pray, work, sleep" followed by his monks. Badly damaged during the hundred years war and converted into a paper mill during the French revolution, the abbey has benefited from extensive renovations and its charms are again apparent. We return to Marjorie II for our final cruise into Montbard, before this evening's farewell dinner
