This culinary voyage will awaken all your
senses to the refinement of the six main wine growing areas of
Bordeaux (Bordeaux / Bordeaux supérieur, vins de
Côtes, Saint Emilion / Pomérol / Fronsac, Médoc / Graves,
Blancs moelleux / liquoreux, Blancs secs / Crémants) in association with the
flavours and subtilities of
the traditional products and dishes of the region.
As you drift along the river and follow
the roads you will see a variety of countryside:
- from secluded riverbanks to vineyards
stretching as far as the eye can see...
- from a wealth of classified Romanesque churches, abbeys and priories of the 10th
century to many Medieval,
Renaissance or Classical chateaux
- from the charm of our old towns, of the walled towns of the 13th
and 14th
century to Bordeaux, Saint Emilion,
the Fortress of Vauban ...
Sunday
- Meet around 3pm, normally in Bordeaux. Travel by car to the Mirabelle in
Castets.. Champagne reception on board. Evening stroll
around the city.
Graves
range from south of Bordeaux to the west of the Garonne, to the edge of the pine
forest of the Landes, which serves as natural protection. The diversity in these
prestige wines characterized both powerful and well-structured for reds, and
distinguished for the delicate, dry white for flaming dessert. Featuring
such wines as: Sauternes, Graves, Pessac and Leognan
Monday
- After breakfast we cruise out of Castets on the River Garonne to
Cadillac.
The Bastides, the
largest region of Bordeaux, the Entre-Deux-Mers is named the two rivers which
surround in natural borders.
Between castles, fortified medieval abbeys typical and are drawn a multitude of
reds, pinks and clarets, lively and fruity, a variety of white wines to be
enjoyed young and fresh and a variety of sweet white and sweet. Featuring
such wines as: Sainte Croix du Mont, Loupiac, Cadillac, 1ere Côtes de
Bordeaux, Entre Deux Mers, High Benauge.
Tuesday
- Continuing cruising on the Garonne to Bordeaux, the historical capital of
Aquitaine renowened wine center.
From the seventeenth
century, the alliance between growers and traders from elsewhere have made of
'Bordeaux' a mark of excellence in wine. Place
de la Bourse, the Quai des Chartrons, the aristocratic streets lined with
beautiful mansions, the heart of the capital appears on the Gironde River and
offers us the legacy of a culture of the vine transmitted over the centuries .
Bordeaux is the only city in the world named after a a prestigious single
vineyard.
This
architectural gem is the largest urban complex world heritage of UNESCO.
Wednesday
- Cruising to Blaye, also well known for its wines.
The right bank of the
Gironde estuary presents hilly landscape of vineyards overlooking the River.
Des

Thursday
- Today we arrive in Pauillac and Bourg.
The Médoc extends 80
miles between the Atlantic Ocean and the largest estuary in Europe, north of
Bordeaux to the Pointe de Grave, north of Bordeaux to the Pointe de
Grave. The area includes the most prestigious Great Classified Growths of
Bordeaux (Classification 1855) and many Crus Bourgeois architecture.
Featuring such wines as: Haut-Médoc, Listrac, Margaux, Medoc, Moulis,
Pauillac, St. Estephe, St. Julien.
Friday
- Today, we cruise on the beautiful Dordogne to reach Libourne.
On
the right bank of the Dordogne, the vineyards of this region thousands enjoy a
worldwide reputation. Saint-Emilion, nicknamed the hill at the 1000 vintages, is
most famous not only for its fine wines and elegant, but also for his city
Medieval classified by UNESCO as World Heritage.
Pomerol is the figure in the landscape flagship wine, despite its small size.
This wonderfully hilly region offers broad views unforgettable.
Covered with vines, it is dominated by the ruins of mills and pigeon.
Featuring such wines as: Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, Montagne, Lussac
Puysseguin, Fronsac.
Saturday
- After a leisurely breakfast, we leave the Mirabelleand travel by car
back to Bordeaux
