Savoir Faire
Chablis Cruise

Despite the many imitations, there is only one true Chablis - the fine, dry white wine from this small area of Burgundy that has been making wine since pre-Roman times.

The Savoir Faire with its 3 decks, includes a large sundeck, a main deck with a panoramic lounge, a separate bar area and an independent dining room finished in mahogany, teak and brass.  For evening entertainment, there is an upright piano, game table, stereo, CD player and library.  There are 6 twin / double ensuite cabins

Paris to Auxerre

Sunday, Day 1  Paris
You are met at the hotel and driven to the Savoir Faire which is docked in Paris on the Left Bank. After a champagne welcome, we begin our exclusive evening cruise through Paris. The Savoir Faire glides past the magnificent church of Notre Dame, the resplendent Louvre art gallery and the symbolic Eiffel Tower, setting the scene for your farewell "Captains Dinner". Paris by night is referred to as the "City of Lights" and is one of the greatest sights to behold anywhere in the world. As we pass beneath the Eiffel Tower and the floodlit bridges, you can see from our panoramic observation deck why this capital has been the focus of so many creative artists and authors. The very essence of Paris comes flooding down to the banks of the Seine, overwhelming the senses and firing the imagination. Our berth for the night is in the Arsenal, a stone's throw from the lively district of the Bastille.

Monday, Day 2  Paris to Montereau
We begin our cruise week by leaving Paris and heading south along the river Seine. After lunch we visit the Palace of Fontainebleau. To walk through Fontainebleau is to walk through the history of France. Every royal family has added its architectural signature. Return to the Savoir Faire, moored in a peaceful countryside setting.

Tuesday, Day 3  Monterereau to Sens
A pleasant cruise along the final stretches of the Seine and onto the beautiful river Yonne. After lunch we visit the UNESCO World Heritage town of Provins. Whilst there we offer the option to see the spectacular open air show, the "Birds of Prey". Our mooring for the night is in Sens, the oldest town in France. After dinner you can take a stroll around the town.

Wednesday, Day 4  Sens to Joigny
Set off on the canal in the morning, stopping for lunch in the Roman style town of Villeneuve. After lunch your driver will take you to re-visit Sens to explore the first of the great Gothic cathedrals, a magnificent building that dominates the main square. Time to shop or visit the museum. We moor overnight alongside the pretty riverside town of Joigny. Its narrow cobbled streets winding their way up to churches perched on top take you back to another era.

Thursday, Day 5  Joigny to Gurgy
Morning cruise to Gurgy. After lunch take a short drive to one of the nearby Chablis vineyards. We select one of the small family operations for an intimate tour of their vineyards and cellar. Later, weather permitting, we visit the "Grand Cru" vineyards perched high above Chablis.

Friday, Day 6  Gurgy to Auxerre
Cruise along the upper reaches of the Yonne to Auxerre, the most beautiful of all river towns whose skyline is punctuated by church spires and its streets lined with timbered 16th century houses. Time for shopping, visiting the old port, or the 15th century clock tower. Farewell "Captains Dinner" on board.

Saturday, Day 7  Auxerre
After breakfast you are driven to your Paris hotel or the airport.

Note : The route is run in reverse on alternate weeks and excursion days and mooring places may change
