CITY TOUR
The trip along the elegant Ring Boulevard will give you the opportunity to obtain a first impression of the city with its various buildings. You will pass the government offices, the municipal park, the Karl´s square, the opera, the Hofburg and various museums. At St. Stephen’s cathedral, you have the option to either join the guided walking tour or to explore the heart of the city by yourself. The tour takes about 90 minutes and includes an interior visit of the cathedral and a guided walking tour towards the Hofburg, the former residence of the Habsburg Emperors, and back to the cathedral. A tour bus will bring you back to the vessel. (On religious holidays cathedral tour might be restricted).

BUDAPEST
CITY TOUR
Budapest, also known as the ‘Queen of the Danube’, is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe. The great Danube River flows through the heart of the city, separating ancient Buda on one bank and the more modern Pest on the other. During the excursion, you have the opportunity to see Hero’s Square and the Parliament in Pest. In Buda, a guided 1 1/2 hours walking tour is planned. You will visit St. Mathias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion from where you have an impressive view onto Pest and the Danube. Before returning to the vessel, you will drive to Gellert Hill, where you will see the citadel and Liberation Monument and from where you will have another fine view of the city. The sequence of sights may change.

MOHACS
PECS
Hungary’s most southern city, Pecs, is located at the spurs of the Mecsek Mountains and is the capital of the the province Baranva. Approximately 150 year of domination by the Ottoman Empire left partially unscathed mosques behind. Together with the ruins of baths they give the city an oriental flair. The most famous heritage of the Turks however, is the Djami (today a Protestant church). It is located at the Szechenyi Square and with its distinct green copper roof it marks the heart of the city. The outstandingly preserved medieval city wall and the Romance catedral, with its four towers, are also reminiscent of the great history of the city. After a 1.5 hour guided walk your will return to Mohacs..

TURNU SEVERIN
CITY MUSEUM & WINE TASTING
The former Roman town Drobeta, now Turnu Severin, was almost completely rebuilt in 1829 after the peace treaty of Adrianopol. In the city center you can still find a few structural witnesses from the time when Drobeta was an important starting point for the campaigns of emperor Trajan. You drive through the center to the city museum, where you can see the remains of a bridge support pillar of the timber bridge that was constructed by Apollodur of Damascus as well as the Roman Castrum that are close by. You then visit the museum, where various archaeological and ethnographical collections are exhibited. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to sample the variety of Romanian wines during an extensive wine tasting.ratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is located at the foot of the Little Carpathian Mountains on the banks of the Danube River. The excursion will start with a short bus ride to the scenic outlook ‘Slavin’, from where you have a panoramic view onto the city. Afterwards, you will start on a walking tour through the lovingly restored old town. You will pass through the Kapituls Lane, where you will see the Theological Seminary and the Gothic Church of the Order of St. Clare. At the Primate Square, you will find the highlight of the city, the Primate’s Palace. In this Neo-classicist building, you can find a number of representational halls as well as a remarkable gallery of famous European artists. The Goblin collection from the 17th century was discovered during renovations in 1903 and is particularly worth seeing. On the way back to the vessel, you will walk across ‘Hviedaslav Square’ where you can see the Opera House, the Ganymede Fountain and the concert hall.

VIDIN
BABA VIDA CASTLE & BELOGRADSCHIK
The 14th-century fortress Baba Vida is the best-preserved medieval Bulgarian fortress. It is located in the northern part of the city of Vidin at the bank of the Danube. During a 45-minute guided walk you see the large, well-preserved square facility boasting several massive gates. It is cornered by four square towers. A one-hour bus ride brings you to Belogradschik where you can admire the only rock city of the world. You then visit the near by fortress with its massive walls and crenels that surround the building in three stages like terraces. The high walls enclose an irregular pentagon with two separate courtyards behind which you can find the ruins of a small castle. It actually dates back to Roman times. You stroll through the fortress to the bus, which brings you back to Vidin.
