DAY 2 : Rouen
We have breakfast as we spend our morning cruising the River Seine. After lunch on board, we arrive around 1pm in Rouen. We set off on our optional guided visit of Rouen, ancient capital of Normandy, where we see the wonderful Cathedral, historic districts and the Market Square (place du Marché) where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. We return on board for dinner and moor for the night
DAY 3 :
Rouen - Caudebec En Caux - Honfleur - Rouen
We set sail early this morning and have breakfast as we cruise. We arrive in Caudebec en Caux around 8am. We have a full day’s excursion to Honfleur and the Côte Fleurie (Floral Coast). We set off by coach to Honfleur, where we arrive around 10am. Coast), where we visit the resort of Deauville, a symbol of elegance, luxury and sophistication. Take a stroll along its famous promenade, or admire the fine exterior of the Casino Barrière. Next we head for the famous Calvados distillery at the Château du Breuil, without doubt one of the finest examples of the architectural heritage of the region. Our visit naturally concludes with a tasting of the Calvados liquor. During our excursion, our ship continues its cruise along the Seine and we rejoin her in Rouen in plenty of time to prepare for dinner. Tonight we have the Gala Dinner and Evening on board as we continue our cruise through the night back towards Paris.
DAY 4 : Paris
We spend the morning cruising gently back to Paris, having breakfast and lunch on board, before arriving in the French capital city around 3pm. We set off by coach for our optional visit of Paris, where we learn a little more about the fascinating attractions of the capital. Since the creation of the Gallo-Roman city of Lutetia on the Ile de la Cité, over two thousand years of history have passed, on which clergymen, Monarchs and Heads of State have all left their mark, constructing churches, erecting monuments and palaces, creating prestigious museums and planning magnificent perspectives. Paris enjoys a reputation for taste and elegance which is largely due to its couturiers, perfume houses and jewellers. Paris is also a town of festivals, theatre, famous cabarets and the sparkling sequins coming from its famous variety shows. We return on board for our Christmas Eve Dinner in our on board restaurant where tables are set around the glittering Christmas tree. During the evening, Father Christmas surprises us with a visit, complete with gifts for all. Midmight Mass is celebrated in Paris (transfer cost of 7€ per person – book and pay on board (3)). We return on board and are served some mulled wine which helps warm us up.
