Day 1 Kyle of Lochalsh. Drive
from
Inverness
and embark MV Lord of the Glens at Kyle of Lochalsh. Evening Captain’s
reception and dinner. Moor Kyle of Lochalsh overnight.
Day 2 Kyle of Lochalsh to the Isle of Skye. Morning
visit to
Inverewe
Gardens
.
Sail in the afternoon via Kyle Rhea and the Sound of Sleat to Armadale on the
Isle
of Skye
.
Moor Armadale overnight.
Day 3 Armadale to Tobermory. Morning
visit to the
Cuillin
Mountains
and the Clan Donald Centre. Afternoon sail around Ardnamurchan Point the most
westerly point of mainland
Britain
and later enter the Sound of Mull to arrive at Tobermory on the Isle of Mull.
Tobermory’s most striking feature is the gaily painted houses that line the
waterfront originally built by the British Fisheries Company to house its
workers for £20 pound each. Moor Tobermory overnight
Day 4 Tobermory to Banavie. Morning
sail via the Sound of Mull and
Loch
Linnhe
to Corpach and the entrance to the
Caledonian
Canal

Later ascend

Staircase a flight of eight inter-connected locks that lifts the vessel 103 feet
to Banavie. Afternoon visit the hauntingly beautiful Glencoe with its impressive
Visitor Centre. Moor Banavie overnight.
Day 5 Banavie Morning

Visitor Centre. Moor Banavie overnight.
Day 6 Banavie to Fort Augustus. A relaxing morning surrounded by magical scenery. Sail before lunch along the portion of the Caledonian Canal known as Laggan Avenue. Those who wish to walk this section of the canal can rejoin the vessel later. Arrive Fort Augustus and ascend and impressive flight of four locks that run through the heart of the town. Overnight in Fort Augustus.
Day 7 Fort Augustus to Inverness. This morning we will cruise the length of Loch Ness sailing close the impressive ruins of Urquhart Castle and on to Loch Dochfour. Reach Inverness at lunchtime. This afternoon you can immerse yourself in Highland history as we visit Culloden Battlefield where Bonnie Prince Charlie and his men perished in the battle of 1746. Then travel back further in time at the nearby standing stones of Clava Cairns, overlapping the Stone and Bronze Ages. Finally, we will visit Fort George before returning to the vessel. Captain’s Farewell Reception
and dinner. Moor overnight in Inverness.
Day 8 Inverness. Disembark after breakfast. Transfer arrangements will be provided to the station/ airport.
