The m/v Monet will sail along the dramatic coastline of Croatia, which offers a fascinating variety of natural beauties and historic sites. There are over 1000 islands basking in the Adriatic sun that, along with the beautiful coastal cities, reflect thousands of years of history and art. Along the Dalmatian Coast the m/v Monet visits: Dubrovnik's beautiful walled city, Split's amazing Roman antiquity, the Byzantine art intricacies of Pula, and Opatija's stately 18th and 19th century villas.
Incomparable Venice will, no doubt, be one of the highlights of your cruise featuring; Renaissance treasures of art and architecture, the charms of its winding canals, unique bridges, elegant boutiques, and incomparable restaurants. It is truly a city of beauty and romance.
In the span of 7 nights/8 days, you will see breathtaking waterfalls, enjoy folkloric performances and view the artistic wonders of centuries past. Day 1, Wed Venice. Embarkation
begins at 4:00pm.
Day 2, Thur Venice. A a full day in Venice,
including a walking tour and offering time to see and do for the frequent visitor as for a first-timer.
Ship departs Venice at 6:00pm heading to Pula.
Day 3, Fri Pula. Located at the tip
of the Istrian Peninsula, famed for its Roman antiquities just a short walk from
our dock. Ship departs at 3:00pm heading to Split.
Day 4, Sat Split to Hvar. Split City Tour: Our tour of Split begins with a visit to the Ivan Mestrovic Art Gallery located in the artist’s former villa, then proceeds into the city, a U.N. World Heritage Site for our Walking Tour. We’ll see the 3rd century Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace as well as the Cathedral of St.
Domnius, originally the Mausoleum for the Emperor and the Baptistery, which originally housed the Temple of Jupiter.
Hvar City Tour: A local guide will meet passengers in front of the ship and proceed on a Walking Tour of the Old City including the Franciscan Monastery, Cathedral, the Treasury and Theater
Day 5, Sun Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik - Excursion to Cilipi Morning Tour (Sunday’s only) Our excursion takes us to the Village of
Cilipi. This charming town is famed for the talents of its local inhabitants who perform folkloric dances, play their traditional musical instruments and display and sell their fine handicrafts.
Dubrovnik City Tour: In the afternoon join us for a guided tour of Dubrovnik’s walled Old City where you will learn about the fascinating history of this medieval metropolis. You’ll discover a treasure trove of medieval art and architecture including the Sponza and Rector’s Palaces, the Franciscan and Dominican Monasteries, the Cathedral, the Church of St.
Blaise, Onofrio’s Large and Small Fountains, Orlando’s Column, and much more. The city richly deserves its designation as a United Nations World Heritage Site.
Day 6, Mon Mljet to Korcula. Mljet tour: Our visit to the National Park of Mljet will include a visit of its beautiful lakes. An imposing 12th century Benedictine Abbey is located on a tiny islet set in the center of Veliko Jezero or Big Lake. There will be time for swimming and enjoying the peaceful pine forest before returning to the ship.
Korcula City Tour: Your Walking Tour of Korcula Town, on the island of Korcula, includes a visit to the Marco Polo house and the 15th century St. Mark’s Cathedral containing artworks ranging through the centuries - from the Renaissance artist
Tintoretto, to a 20th century Pieta by Mestrovic. Another highlight is the Treasury, located in the 14th century Abbey Palace, with its eclectic collection of paintings, jewelry, fine furniture and ancient documents.
Day 7, Tues Zadar. Your
walking tour of Zadar, offers a visit to the exceptional Museum of Church Art, the Archaeological Museum or the National Museum.
Day 8, Wed Venice. Disembark after breakfast
