Sightseeing Excursions

                                                                            DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Saturday Paris Travel to Paris and embark
In Paris the ship’s crew bids you a hearty welcome on board from 15.00 hrs. As the ship does not set sail until 21.45 there is an opportunity to explore your floating hotel.

Sunday Les Andelys

Around midday we arrive at the charming small town of
Les Andelys. Our excursion takes you to the impressive ruined
castle of Gaillard . The castle was built in the 12th Century by Richard the Lionheart on an outcrop above the Seine and thus offers excellent views across the Seine Valley and the town of Les Andelys. During the afternoon we set sail for Caudebec-en-Caux.

Monday Caudebec-en-Caux

After breakfast we offer a coach tour to the coastal resorts of Fécamp and Etretat (bookable only on board). Situated between high chalk cliffs, Etretat is one of the finest resorts on this part of the coast. We then are taken to the top of the cliffs for a fantastic view over Fécamp, the Channel and parts of the old Atlantic Wall. During the afternoon we have a guided walk in Caudebec-en-Caux followed by a tour to Villequier with its picturesque half-timbered houses. The ship remains overnight in Caudebec-en-Caux.

Tuesday Caudebec-en-Caux / Rouen

This morning you should not miss the excursion to the attractive port of Honfleur at the mouth of the
Seine . Thanks to its historic harbour basin, its lovely narrow streets and traditional half-timbered houses it is one of Normandy’s most attractive towns. During the afternoon we set sail again on the Seine to arrive in Rouen , capital of Normandy, in the evening.

Wednesday Rouen

After breakfast comes a guided walk in
Rouen, birthplace of the writer Gustave Flaubert. The many Gothic buildings in the city centre give one the impression of being in a living museum. You will certainly be impressed by the charm of this city. During the afternoon we have a coach tour along the „Route des Abbayes“ ( Abbey Road) (bookable only on board). This attractive route stretches along the Seine past a series of abbeys, including the impressive ruins of the former Benedictine monastery at Jumièges. During the early evening the ship departs upstream to Vernon
.

Thursday Vernon

We arrive during the early morning in
Vernon. This is the starting point for a morning tour to the nearby Gardens and Monet House in Giverny. The village became famous as the former residence of the Impressionist Claude Monet. It was here that he was inspired to produce his series of water lily paintings. After lunch there is a guided walk through the charming small town on Vernon (bookable only on board). We now set out on our final cruise leg back to Paris.

Friday
Paris
After breakfast we warmly recommend the excursion to the
Palace of Versailles (bookable only on board). Here we explore the richly decorated home of Louis XIV and stroll through the lovely park. This afternoon we have the final highlight of our cruise - a coach tour through Paris to see the most important sights – the Eiffel Tower , the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées.

Saturday Disembark in Paris
We arrive back at our starting-point in Paris during the morning, in time to say farewell to the ship after breakfast. You will disembark from your ship with many happy memories as your individual onward journey commences.
