DETAILED ITINERARY

Saturday Travel to Potsdam and embark
In Potsdam the ship’s crew bids you a hearty welcome on board at 16.00 hrs. There is now an opportunity to explore your floating hotel or to join our City tour through Potsdam and visit the wonderful park of Castle Sans Souci. The city tour will start at 14.00 hrs at Berlin main station.

Sunday Magdeburg
Today we recommend you to stay on the sun deck to appreciate the attractive riverside landscape. In the afternoon we offer a tour through this historic state capital of Sachsen-Anhalt. We visit the market square, which bears the landmark of the city – the gilded statue of the Magdeburg Rider, and then enter the mighty cathedral.

Monday Wittenberg
Today we reach Wittenberg in the morning. Our afternoon walk through the town centre follows the footsteps of the Reformer Martin Luther. During this excursion you will visit the house of Martin Luther and of course the castle church on which he fixed his thesis.

Tuesday Meissen / Dresden
The big Albrechts-Castle in Meissen will welcome you! Our excursion (bookable only on board) takes us to the porcelain factory to learn something about how it is made and to visit the exhibition with its magnificent collection of Meissen ware. We then have time for a stroll through the very attractive town centre. In the early evening the ship sets sail to Dresden, where it will stay overnight.

Wednesday Dresden / Sandstone Mountains
After breakfast we start our coach tour of Dresden, nicknamed “Florence of the Elbe”. Wonderful buildings as the Semper Opera, the “Zwinger”, or the Church of our Lady will elate you. The city has a multifaceted history. Prince August the Strong has influenced the face of the city with his agile building activities. The baroque flair Dresden will fascinate you.
After lunch we offer an optional excursion through Saxon Switzerland, which includes a visit to the Bastei rock tower, before taking us to the palace park in Pillnitz (bookable only on board). On the tour you will gain an impression of the narrow gorges and bizarre sandstone cliffs and enjoy views of the Elbe Valley and the surrounding landscape. The park in Pillnitz invites you to a very pleasant stroll, before we re-embark in Bad Schandau.

Thursday Leitmeritz / Melnik
In the afternoon we reach Leitmeritz. Join our guided walk and see the historic center of the Czech city. (Bookable only on board) In the 18th century Leitmeritz was a diocesan town and domicile of kings. Afterwards the ship cruises on to Melnik, where it will stay overnight.

Friday Prague
In the afternoon we offer a tour through the “Golden City”. We see its beautiful, historic buildings, as history is brought to life. Prague was once the capital of the Holy Roman Empire and thus the cultural centre of Europe. We trace the steps of the ancient rulers and admire the fine villas and the world-famous Wenceslas Square.

Saturday Disembarkation
It is time to say farewell to the ship after a final breakfast on board. You will disembark from your ship with many happy memories as your individual onward journey commences.
