Daily Itinerary
Saturday Travel to Stralsund and embark
The crew of our cruise ship welcomes you aboard from 15.30 in Stralsund. You
then have an opportunity to explore this attractive Hanseatic port with its
historic buildings on our guided walk (bookable only on board).
Sunday Zingst
During the morning we arrive in Zingst, situated on a peninsula, dividing the
Baltic Sea from the coastal lagoon, and in the centre of the National Park „Vorpommersche
Boddenlandschaft“. Zingst is the starting point for our excursion firstly to the
picturesque artists’ colony of Ahrenshoop and then to Prerow, with its historic
sailors’ church (bookable only on board). During the early evening the ship sets
course for the island of Hiddensee.
Monday Hiddensee / Rügen
This morning we arrive in Vitte, the main town on the island of Hiddensee. Here
you must not miss a ride in a horse-drawn carriage around the island. The island
is 17 km (11 miles) long and is completely car-free. It has a variety of
interesting and attractive landscapes. We then leave Hiddensee for
Wittower Fähre (ferry) on the island of Rügen. Here we offer an excursion to the
famous chalk cliffs in the Jasmund National Park . On our return the ship
departs for Greifswald.
Tuesday Greifswald / Usedom
After breakfast we arrive in Wieck, a suburb of Greifswald. From here there is a
coach transfer into the centre of Stralsund for a guided walk through this
ancient Hanseatic city, with its attractive brick buildings and impressive
gables (bookable only on board). The ship then cruises across the bay to
Peenemünde on the island of Usedom. Here we offer a coach tour which visits the
island’s coastal resorts – including Ahlbeck and Heringsdorf. In the meantime
the ship has sailed to Wolgast where we re-embark.
Wednesday Szczecin
After cruising across the Oder Lagoon we arrive during the morning in Szczecin.
This afternoon we have a coach tour of the city, which takes us to the restored
Gothic Town Hall and to St. James Cathedral, the city’s largest Gothic church.
The remains of the former defensive walls bear witness to the city’s turbulent
history. The Seven Coat Tower and the richly decorated Berlin Gate are both most
impressive. During the early evening the ship sets sail for Oderberg.
Thursday Oderberg
This morning we offer an excursion to the open air museum at Altranft
(bookable only on board). Here we see traces of Prussian history and explore the
various craft workshops and the attractive half-timbered houses. The afternoon
tour takes us to the huge boat lift at Niederfinow and to the ruined abbey of
Chorin. The boat lift has been in operation for 70 years and has attracted many
visitors from all over the world. From the Visitors’ Gallery one has superb
views across the Eberswald Valley and over the River Oder. The tour then
continues to the Cistercian monastery in Chorin, a fine example of North German
Brick Gothic. During the evening the ship casts off again and sets course for
Berlin-Spandau.
Friday Berlin
During the morning we arrive in the German capital. Here we offer an
afternoon coach tour of the city (bookable only on board), before the final
section of our cruise – across the attractive Wannsee and Jungfernsee Lakes to
Potsdam.
Saturday Disembark in Potsdam
After a final breakfast on board it is time to take our leave of the
ship with many happy memories of our time on board.
