Four River Journey Cruise

Departing Oct 10 - 17, 2011

Four of Europe’s most legendary rivers await on you this mesmerizing journey. Experience the romantic spirit and the rich heritage left by history and nature along the Danube, the Main-Danube Canal, the Main and the Rhine. Your journey through the heart of Europe starts on the Danube, without doubts the most delightful among the European rivers and continues on the Main-Danube Canal. The idea of connecting the Rhine and Danube by canal was first conceived in the 17th century. Yet it was not until 1992 that this dream was realized with a technical masterpiece with 16 locks to overcome a total difference in elevation of 107.3 meters or 352 feet. Sailing up the Main River is an enchanting experience too: Floating from one city to another, gliding past steep vineyards, fairy-tale castles, impressive ruins and medieval villages. Finally the Rhine: The banks of the Rhine River are steeped in 2,000 years of history. Since ancient Roman times the gorgeous Upper Middle Rhine Valley has been an inspiration to all who journey here.
