                                               RHINE AND DANUBE RIVER CRUISE ITINERARY

DAY 1 :  Amsterdam (Embarkation)
A warm welcome awaits you from your crew as you board your luxury Scenic Cruise.

DAY 2 :  AmsterdaM
SIGHTSEEING -  choose from: (1) a sightseeing canal cruise; (2) a guided bicycle tour of Amsterdam (limited availability); or (3) visit the Van Gogh Museum. This afternoon we sail towards Germany .

DAY 3 :  Cologne    
We arrive in Cologne , one of Germany ’s oldest cities in time for the last day of the famous Christmas markets.

DAY 4 :    Cologne
Explore the Old Town with its beautiful squares and historical monuments. Tonight be led in Christmas Carols with your Cruise Director and new found friends before enjoying a Christmas Eve Dinner.

DAY 5 :  Rüdesheim
Merry Christmas! This morning we cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge. Arrive at Rüdesheim in time to enjoy our Christmas lunch on board.

DAY 6 :  Wertheim
Enjoy time today exploring this quaint medieval village.

DAY 7 :  Würzburg
SIGHTSEEING - choose from: (1) a guided tour of Würzburg; or (2) an excursion to Rothenburg.

DAY 8 :  Bamberg
This afternoon we explore Bamberg with our guide.  Be greeted by the cellar master at the Zehnthaus and sample his selection of brews.

DAY 9 :  Nuremberg
Take a guided tour of the old town before visiting the Nuremberg Rallies and Trial sites.

DAY 10 :   Regensburg
Take a guided tour of Regensburg , one of Germany ’s finest preserved cities.

DAY 11 :   Passau – Linz
SIGHTSEEING - choose from: (1) a guided tour of Passau ; or (2) a visit to charming Salzburg ; or (3) a full day excursion to Cesky Krumlov. Enjoy your New Years Eve celebrations this evening with a gala dinner on board.

DAY 12 :  Melk – Vienna
We celebrate New Years Day by discovering the magnificent Benedictine Abbey on our guided city tour of Melk. The ship sails through the spectacular Wachau Valley to picturesque Durnstein. This evening we arrive in Vienna .

DAY 13 :  Vienna
Explore the famous sights of Vienna . SIGHTSEEING -  choose from: (1) visit to Schönbrunn Palace; (2) visit the Opera House before enjoying coffee and cake: or (3) a guided excursion to Bratislava

DAY 14 :  Vienna
Morning at leisure.  This evening enjoy a glass of Austrian ‘Sekt’ at the majestic Palais Liechtenstein, followed by a private Viennese concert.

DAY 15 :  Budapest
Enjoy a guided tour of the city sights. Tonight, be entertained by folklore music on board prior to your farewell dinner.
