6 Day Romantic Rhine
Strasbourg - Rudesheim - Koblenz - Loreley - Mainz - Rastatt - Strasbourg
CSW

DAY 1: STRASBOURG

Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6:00 p.m. We'll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Join us on an optional excursion for both packages: Take a boat tour of Strasbourg at night (subject to availability). We'll see all the great sites on the riverbanks, from Petite France- listed as UNESCO World Heritage site since 1988- to the European quarter where institutions such as the Council of Europe and the European Parliament are located. The boat tour also includes the three bridges and four towers known as the Ponts Couverts as well as the Vauban Dam.

Our ship will begin to cruise.

DAY 2: RUDESHEIM

We'll spend the morning cruising. Optional excursions proposed:

CLASSIC package: Tourist train, wine tasting, and Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet in Rudesheim.*First, we'll enjoy a guided tour of the local vineyards on a tourist train to get a great view of the surrounding landscape. We'll then take part in a wine tasting in the historic rooms of the Bassenheimer Hof. Our next stop will be Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet. Located in a lovely half-timbered building, the museum houses a wide range of mechanical instruments - including the jaw-dropping Ochestrion with some dating back to the 15th century. Siegfried Wendel, a local music lover, spent years assembling a collection of instruments and opened the museum in 1969.

DISCOVERY package: Hike through the vineyards in Rudesheim. We'll begin at the imposing Niederwald Monument, which majestically overlooks the river. Our hike will take us through the beautiful vineyards to the Abbey of St. Hildegard, which was built in the early 20th century.

DAY 3: RUDESHEIM - KOBLENZ

We'll spend the morning cruising.

This afternoon, join us for an optional excursion: Koblenz and the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle Rivers, Koblenz is a great city to stroll through. We'll visit the historic castle, where we'll have a magnificent view across the city and valleys.

Enjoy a free evening to explore the city on your own.

DAY 4: KOBLENZ - MAINZ

We'll spend the morning cruising. In the afternoon, we offer two optional excursions:

CLASSIC package: Tour of Mainz and the Gutenberg Museum. Mainz was founded more than 2,000 years ago by the Romans and is currently the capital of the Rhine-Palatinate. In the 17th and 18th centuries, top architects and sculptors enhanced the basic shape of the town with fine palaces and churches. We'll visit the Gutenberg Museum, the world-famous museum of book printing which houses two copies of the Gutenberg Bible, the first major book printed with movable type in the West.

DISCOVERY package: Tour through the vineyards leaving from Mainz. We'll settle in for an open-air wagon ride, where we'll be able to take in the magnificent views of the Rhine. We'll also enjoy a traditional bread, wine, and cold-cut snack from the region.

The rest of the evening is yours to do as you please.

DAY 5: RASTATT

We’ll spend the morning cruising. In the afternoon, we offer two optional excursions:

CLASSIC package: Tour of Baden-Baden. In 2017, an article in The New York Times described Baden-Baden as “The Belle Epoque meets the Age of Instagram.” Join us for a tour of this delightful spa town and discover for yourself the fun and fascinating mix it has to offer.

DISCOVERY package: The Treetop Walk in the Black Forest. We’ll take a lovely hike along a trail that traverses the dense forest of beech and pine trees to the impressive observation tower that provides an unobstructed view of the amazing scenery.

Tonight is our festive gala evening. Our ship will begin cruising to Strasbourg.
